Swaps

Well, it's been awhile! Life has been a little crazy lately, but I did have fun participating in one of the NAC (Not Attending Convention) swaps on SCS. This swap features the new 2009-2010 In Colors and the Razzleberry Lemonade paper (which I LOVE).

The one shown on the right with the Crushed Curry background and Rich Razzleberry ribbon is the one I swapped. The one below is an alternate which I just might like even more, but I was done all my swaps (and used up all my Crushed Curry paper) before I made it.

Embossed Silhouettes

I love this stamp set! It is so perfect for embossing as well as the Zindorf brayer technique. As usual, I was inspired by the many creative ideas on Splitcoaststampers, but this layout is my own.

I actually didn't brayer on this one, I decided to try sponging instead. I started by sponging So Saffron in the area where the moon is, then masking and sponging graduated layers in Night of Navy, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, and Pink Pirouette.

Then I stamped the tree/grass image and the wolf from Nature Silhouettes in Versamark and embossed in black. The embossing turned out a bit splotchy but it's not a bad effect. It is matted on Night of Navy cardstock.

The base is Kraft stamped with the Sanded background stamp in Sahara Sand. The birthday sentiment from Sincere Salutations is stamped in Night of Navy.

I love the antique brass jumbo eyelets - the rustic look of them is perfect for this card. I finished off by looping hemp twine through a few times.

This stamp set is perfect for masculine cards. I made this card for a friend's birthday and I hope he liked it.

Dream a Little

I made this card for my friend's birthday in March. I CASED it from this card on Splitcoaststampers (where else??)

I used the Dream a Little Level 2 hostess set, Oval All from the Occasions Mini, and the beautiful Gallery stamp set of frames. The base is Riding Hood Red and I also used Basic Black cardstock and Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper.

The flowers are stamped in Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, and Tangerine Tango (I think...) stamped off. I should have rock and rolled, I like the effect on the original. The hummingbird and leaves are both stamped in Kiwi Kiss and the sentiment is in Riding Hood Red with the Basic Black frame.

I love the colour combo and hope my friend liked it too!

Cat's Meow

Ok, I finally got my photos organized - here is the first one. This is one of the only non-Stampin' Up! cards I have made, and really, if SU had some cat sets I would be all over them! Here's hoping for some in the new catty! Anyhow, back in December I was sitting around browsing through all the fabulous cards on Splitcoaststampers and I came across this card, which inspired me to pop over to Pink Cat Studios website for a look see.

Long story short, I indulged in some retail therapy, purchased a cute kitty cat stamp set, and created this card. I coloured it with Stampin' Write Markers, and embossed in black. The base colour is real red and the yellow is summer sun. The embellishments are filigree designer brads and circle fire rhinestone, and styled silver hodgepodge hardware. I really love how this card turned out!
